David Damage's WWE Raw Recap for 26th July 2010
Okay,
this is the first time in a long time that I have actually wrote a
report of Raw while I was watching it and the reason I haven't done it
in so long is because I've been so appalled by the stupid writing and
awful / non-existant "wrestling" on the show.... anyway, here is my own
personal report of Raw last night!!
Please let me know what you
think and this could be the last one or the first of many, but I fear
that all the others will probably look exactly the same as this one...
David’s Raw Results (Recapped by David Damage) 26th July 2010
Raw live from San Antonio….
Raw starts with Cena’s awful music being played and Cena makes his way to the ring…
Blah
Blah about Nexus for ages, very boring - To cut his long-winded promo
down, he basically says Nexus have been attacking people on Raw so he
will stop them with his team at SummerSlam and everyone in his team was
chosen for a reason…. (hint?)
Thankfully Jericho comes down to the
ring and cuts a good promo about not changing his (heel) ways to team
with Cena at SummerSlam.
Jericho says that Nexus are not the only
threat to Raw because Cena also does what he wants on Raw, the same way
Nexus do, the only difference is that Cena has lots of puppet fans.
The
Guest Host sends email to Michael Cole to say that Jericho and Cena
have to team together against a pairing of his choosing later tonight…
Randy
Orton comes to the ring and stares down at Sheamus on the outside as
Michael Cole reminds us that it will be Orton Vs Sheamus at SummerSlam.
Is everyone else as completely under-whelmed by that as I am!? It looks
like an awful match on paper, but I’m sure it will be even worse than
that on the night. Neither guy does anything other than punch-punch-
kick, rest hold, finisher so what is there to get excited about seeing
exactly?
I can see their by-the-numbers match in my head and I’m already bored with it.
I
prefer matches less predictable - I know all of their lame “Spots” in
the match before they do it and that’s not good, it’s really boring.
Randy
Orton Vs Uso - This is just an enhancement match for Randy, he hits his
slam, DDT, gets a little rest hold in there, throws some kicks and
punches and hit’s the RKO for the easy win. Jimmy Uso attacks Orton from
behind but Randy overcomes him and nails the RKO on Sheamus… Then Miz’s
music hits and he is going to cash in his MITB on Sheamus while he is
unconscious from Randy’s RKO… but Orton hits Miz with his own RKO which
leaves Orton as the last guy standing in the ring again.
From that
whole segment - The Usos, Sheamus and Miz all looked completely
jobber-weak just to put over Orton. Why can’t they put over Orton
without making everyone else look like a jobber!? Orton hit Sheamus and
Miz with one move each which knocked them completely out, after he had
already been won a match and overcome outside interference.
I don’t
know how WWE intend to make money with Miz, Sheamus or Uso when they
push them one week and them bury them the next, it’s not really
achieving anything because Orton was over with the fans before he just
buried 4 other guys in the ring! Lol
Khali challenges Edge to a
match, Edge says if Khali loses, then he is out of the WWE Team at
SummerSlam…. PLEASE let Edge win this match!!!.. Khali wrestles just
like Giant Gonzalez used to, except Khali is much slower and less
mobile… Nexus came down to the ring right after the match between Khali
and Edge starts and they just stare at Khali.
So I’ve just sat
through Khali’s awful music and slow entrance, Edge’s entrance and the
entrance of Nexus and nothing happens with any of these guys. I’ve just
wasted 10 minutes of my life but I probably would have wasted it more if
I had to see Khali actually wrestle, so maybe it’s a good thing.
Next is the Seven On Seven WWE Vs Nexus War Elimination match
Lawler, Henry, Bourne, Tyson, Tatsu, Goldust, DH Smith Vs Tarver, Barrett, Slater, Otunga,
The
WWE team obviously have “Jobbers” written all over them because WWE
have no respect for these guys, as talented as they all are apart from
Mark Henry.
This will probably be a clean sweep for Nexus coming up!??…. Yes!!
Okay,
so the previous segment saw 4 guys treated like complete jobbers
(Uso‘s, Miz & Sheamus) to put over Orton even more, then this match
has 7 WWE guys treated as complete jobbers (Harts, Lawler, Henry,
Bourne, Goldust, Tatsu) to put over Nexus.
The only way WWE know how
to get people over is by having them squash someone else… how about
having a really great wrestling match which puts over ALL the guys in
the match, with one side coming out victorious (thus put over stronger
than the losing side) which would then lead to future matches to find
out who really is the better guy / better team!?? In WWE, they seem to
just decide on the night “Yeah, the heel can make the baby face look
weak tonight and then the heel can make the baby face look weak next
week” - WHY MAKE ANYONE LOOK WEAK!???
Evan Bourne is someone they
were kinda pushing the last few weeks and now he is a jobber again?
Maybe next week he will pin the World champion and then the week after
that he will get jobbed out quickly to Santino… WWE are cruising by on
past glory (pre-2001) because they don’t know what they are doing
anymore, obviously.
Alicia Vs Brea Bella
Alicia wins another Enhancement match after a minute of nothing happening.
WWE have gone back to having enhancement matches on TV again but they are using their “Stars” as the jobbers!! lol
After
Alicia made Brea Bella look really weak by beating her cleanly in 1
minute, after the match Alicia beats down Jillian just to make her look
weaker than they have already made her look. Raw has been crap so far.
John
Morrison Vs Ted Dibiase, finally the chance of a good or competitive
match and only 1 hour, 20 mins through the show! The match was very
short, had interference from R-Truth but at least both guys looked good
for all 3 minutes they were in the ring! Lol
Morrison & R-Truth
had a falling out after the match due to their collision during the
match and Cena looked worried backstage that 2 members of his team at
SummerSlam are not get along well.
It’s definitely being set up for
Cena to join Nexus in my opinion because Jericho said he was the same as
they are and Cena doesn’t get along with anyone on his team etc
Maybe this is why he said that he picked his team for good reason… because he has pretty much feuding with everyone on his team
That
said, I can’t see WWE turning Cena and risk losing lots of WWE children
and women fans who may stop watching the show if he stops playing the
babyface hero character they love so much. Not to mention, Triple H must
want that spot because he is coming back soon….
Terrible Raw so
far and now it’s the main event, Sheamus & Miz Vs Chris Jericho
& Cena. Jericho’s work was crisp, his timing was great, selling was
great. Cena was Cena, I can’t be bothered to rant about how bad he is
at the moment. Sheamus came in aand applied a long armlock before
hitting a backbreaker - how does that make any sense? The Miz is always
improving and was the workhorse of his team, obviously. When Jericho and
Miz were in there the match was quite good, when Cena and Sheamus were
in there it was wrestling at it’s most fake and pathetic. Almost
comedic, yet too crap to really be funny because I’m really into Pro
Wrestling and know how great it can be when it’s done well which is what
I mainly hope for when I watch wrestling on TV. My time is pretty
limited, so when I spend a couple of hours watching wrestling from the
“No.1” company in the world, I do expect it to be a certain standard
which WWE has fallen far below for a number of years now thanks to Cena,
Khali, Henry, Batista, Koslov, women who look completely lost in the
ring etc.
After the match, Cena’s SummerSlam team started to brawl with one another.
It definitely looks to me like Cena will be turning on his team at SummerSlam…
But it’s probably just a tease to get the internet fans talking….
Does anyone think that WWE will actually turn Cena at SummerSlam!??
