Alberto Del Rio Vs Kofi Kingston start the show
Kofi starts off strong, but Del Rio takes control after pushing Kofi
into the ringpost and pushing him back into the ring and wearing him
down with a figure-4 body scissors and a well executed back suplex.
Kofi hits a springboard forearm for a 2 count and a cross body from the
top rope is blocked by Del Rio's knees. Kofi fights back and hits a
cross body from the top rope for a 2 count. Del Rio hits a gut buster
for a 2 count. Kofi counters Del Rio into a rolling DDT for a 2
count, will Ricardo distracts the ref. Kofi hits Trouble in Paradise
for a 2 count. Hangman neckbreaker on Kofi before Del Rio slaps on his
cross arm breaker and Kofi taps out. Winner of the match: Alberto
Del Rio. Good work from both guys, but match could have been better if
they had a bit more time. I think the match went about 10 minutes. Randy Orton is shown backstage, waiting for the Elimination Chamber match The Smack Down Elimination Chamber match is up next.... The surprise entry? The Big Show.....Edge
& Mysterio start the match and great action to start... Wade
Barrett is the third man in.... all three guys work on one another
until Kane comes in as the forth man in the match. Everyone seems to be
working hard in the match and it's going pretty well so far. Drew
McIntyre is the 5th guy in the match. He immediately rams Rey Mysterio
head-first into a pod (Rey looks like he came down badly on one leg) and
then McIntyre sends Wade Barrett through one of the weakened plexiglass
pods back-first. Kane avoids the 619 and sends Mysterio head-first
into a pod again.... Booker is also concerned about Rey after 2 brutal
head-first bumps.... The Big Show is the 6th man into the match... Big
Show goes after Wade Barrett and sends him through a chamber pod before
Big Show nails him with lots of hard chops and a straight right hand to
eliminate Barrett.... Kanes hits a clothesline from the top on Big
Show and Edge hits an Elbow from the top rope.... McIntyre hits Big Show
with a DDT and Mysterio hits Show with a Senton from on top of a
pod.... A 619 and a Spear on Big Show before Kane hits a chokeslam to
eliminate the Big Show... Kane Chokeslams McIntyre for a 3 count.... Mysterio hits the 619 on Kane before Edge hits the Spear through Mysterio to Big Show for a 3 count Edge & Mysterio are the last guys in the match but before Kane goes to the back, he hits a Chokeslam on both guys...
After some great back & forth action between Edge & Mysterio,
Edge eventually hits the Spear on Mysterio for the win....
This was a very good Elimination Chamber match, with a ton of action.
Edge and Mysterio were obviously the workhorses of the match and it was
great to see the match start and end with those two. Still the World Champion - Edge.
After the match, Alberto Del Rio comes to the ring and attacks a very
tired Edge before he slaps on his arm breaker submission....
CHRISTIAN'S MUSIC PLAYS AND CHRISTIAN RETURNS TO SAVE EDGE!! Christian
is back!Jerry Lawler is getting ready backstage for his WWE Title shot...
Booker T announces Trish Stratus will be joining himself and Stone Cold
as trainers on the new Tough Enough! Booker T Interviews Trish in the
ring.... The comedy Tag Champs Koslov & Santino take on the The Corre - Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel....
Santino hits the stupid Cobra on Justin Gabriel.... Slater hits a
reverse DDT on Koslov and Gabriel hits his 420 Splash and now Slater and
Gabriel are the Tag Champs... Thankfully this was kept short, but
it was still pretty boring. I don't mind Slater and Gabriel, they have
potential - but the comedy duo of Santino and Koslov is just insulting.
Talking of insulting, Vicky Guerrero comes to the ring - The PPV was
going fine until the comedy tag match and now the talentless Vicky
squeeling like a rabid pig down the microphone in the middle of the
ring....Damn
it, the dizzy and talentless Kelly Kelly is back - the even more
talentless Laycool come to the ring and attack Kelly.... Trish comes
back to the ring to make the save, but the pathetic ring rats Layla and
Michelle manage to put up a fight before Trish clears the ring with the
Chick kick and Stratusfaction... It's great to see Trish back, but
it's a shame that the rest of the segment here involved Kelly, Laycool
& Vicky - all competely worthless and a pain for me to have to sit
through.WWE Title: The Miz Vs Jerry The King Lawler
The Miz works on Lawler in the early going. Lawler fights back and gets
a 2 count after a superplex from the top rope. Lawler hits a couple of
great dropkicks and a backdrop for a 2 count. Riley trips up
Lawler in front of the referee and he gets sent to the back. Miz drives
himself into the post and Lawler rolls him up for a 2 count. He goes for
the Piledriver, but Miz backs out of the move and counters with a big
boot. King lowers the top rope and Miz sails to the outside. Michael
Cole gets in King's face and Miz takes control of the match, driving
Lawler back first into the side of ring. Lawler fires back on Miz and
sends him into Michael Cole. Booker T comments that Michael Cole may
be out cold... Lawler hits a fist from the top rope for a 2 count as
Michael Cole starts to get to his feet. Lawler hits a DDT on The Miz
before lowering his strap and hitting the fistdrop from the top rope for
a two count after Miz puts his foot on the rope. Miz escapes a
piledriver attempt and hits the Skull Crushing Finale to retain the WWE
Title. Michael Cole gets in the ring to raise the Miz's hand...
Lawler didn't win the Title, but he proved that even at 61 years of
age, he could outwork Cena, Orton, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, The Miz and
most of the "headliners" in WWE, easily.Cena eats Fruity Pebbles backstage and cuts another lame comedy promo for kids... Matt Striker is backstage with CM Punk who says he will be winning the Elimination Chamber match.... I hope so! :)
Cena, Orton & Sheamus are obviously the weakest workers in this
match, so I just hope that they allow R-Truth, CM Punk & John
Morrison to work most of the match. What are we going to see from
Orton, Cena & Sheamus? Punch - Punch - Kick - Kick... It's just
boring and predictable and I have no time for that crap.... John Morrison & Sheamus start the match....
There seems to be a "Lets Go Cena" - "CM Punk" duelling chant even
though neither are in the match at the moment... Orton is the 3rd guy in
and he does his usual simple offence before sending Morrison through
one of the weakended pods... Orton DDTs Sheamus on the steel. CM Punk is up next, but they can't open the door fully, so CM Punk is attacked by Orton on his way out...
Randy Orton hits the RKO on CM Punk for a 3 count.... the stupid
general manager sends another stupid email which Michael Cole reads....
Due to a malfunctioning pod, CM Punk is being re-entered into the match,
but he has to start from inside his pod again... The fans chant "CM Punk".... Cena is next out of his pod... Orton & Sheamus exchange lame punches and kicks.... R-Truth is out next... He hits a few impressive moves before Sheamus boots him in the face and gets the 3 count...
Orton & Cena exchange their crappy punches again... I've lost count
of the amount of times I've seen them punching and kicking eachother in
slow motion, but I can add this match to those countless times.... Sheamus hits a big boot on Orton and CM Punk comes into the match and gets a 2 count on Orton.... CM Punk hits the GTS on Orton for a 3 count, thankfully....
John Morrison climbs the chain link chamber and drops onto Sheamus for a
3 count, thankfully.... more dead weight out of the match, now if only
Cena could go next, then we could have a great end sequence between Punk
and Morrison... Morrison goes into one of the pods and seems to
have legitimately blown his knee out, or he is doing a great job at
selling.... Morrison misses the Starship Pain from the ropes and
Punk catches him in the GTS for the 3 count... Credit to Morrison for
missing that last move as he took the bump directly on his injured
knee... Cena hits his stupid fireman-carry-flop onto the steel to get the 3 count on CM Punk.... Damn it, Cena won. Crappy way to end the PPV, but what can you expect from WWE? Overall, this was better than the average WWE PPV. The Smack Down Elimination Chamber was especially worth watching, I really enjoyed watching it. The comedy tag match and the Vicky Guerrero segments were a waste of time. Lawler Vs The Miz was okay, but they didn't have too much time - their ladder match on Raw was a much better match.
The Raw Elimination Chamber match had it's moments - usually involving
Morrison, Punk and R-Truth, but in the end Cena won again, staining the
match forever with a big brown Cena stain in the history books.
