UFC president Dana White recently confirmed that the winner of the upcoming Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem fight on December 30 at UFC 141 will indeed become the instant number one contender to the UFC heavyweight championship.

This means with a victory in December, Lesnar could find himself in a title match against either Cain Velasquez in a rematch of the fight where he lost the title, or against Junior Dos Santos, the man he coached opposite on The Ultimate Fighter and was forced to pull out of their fight due to diverticulitis.

The next UFC heavyweight title fight will be on November 12 for the UFC on FOX debut where Velasquez will defend the belt against Dos Santos in the evening's main event.
