The
Federal Election Commission ruled (by a vote of 6-) that there was no
wrong-doing with WWE trying to help Linda McMahon win a senate seat last
year. The ruling was actually made in August and made public on Friday.
The investigation was made following a complaint filed last year
by State Democrats, who had claimed that WWE illegally helped McMahon by
holding a 'Fan Appreciation Day', doing a 'Stand Up for WWE' campaign,
and taping a commercial for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The
FEC did find that WWE violated the law with the Make-A-Wish commercial,
in which she appeared for two seconds, but chose to dismiss it as a "a
matter of prosecutorial discretion".
