Gabe Sapolsky spoke with The Aftershock ProWrestling Radio recently. Among the highlights:

On what he would change in TNA in-order for them to possibly compete with the WWE: "They need a complete overhaul of the brand you know, that's what the bottom line is. I mean it came close to happening, you know Paul Heyman was in those talks, who knows what would have happened with me, it was unlikely I was going to give up Dragon Gate USA and Evolve, however it was likely that I would have gone there with him and I think the product would have been a million times better than it is right now had they gone through with the plan. Heyman was going to go in and make massive changes but it just never happened."

On how the Paul Heyman/Gabe Sapolsky going into TNA didn't end up happening: "Paul made a lot of demands and Dixie Carter didn't want to give him what he wanted, which was pretty much Vince Russo had to go, there had to be changes in the company personal wise. One thing about Dixie is she is very loyal to whoever is kissing her a** at the time, so she wouldn't do it."

On the CM Punk/John Cena/Nash Angle: "The PPV was great, I didn't see it but every report said it was one of the best in years. I didn't like the move of having Punk re-signing and them not doing anything, I thought they could have done a lot more cool stuff with it like, sending Punk to the X-Games with the belt. I mean I loved the thing where Punk crashed the comic-con event, I mean that was great that's the kinda thing to get people talking again.

"Right now that 3.0 rating, those are the people that are going to watch every week and if there's a hot match/angle then they are going to buy the PPV. But you know what you got to do is get above that audience, you know when The Rock came back he added a lot more viewers because he is The Rock and people want to see him, but now they got to figure out how to get someone else to get to that level/take that role."
