Highlights of Austin Aries winning the World Championship from Robert Roode opens the show…
No DQ: Bully Ray Vs Joseph Park
Bully Ray dominates much of the action. A Kendo Stick, cheese grater, and trashcan are all involved in the match before Bully Ray gets slammed into tacks which he had earlier scattered in the ring. Bully Ray gets the win with a chain-assisted right hand. Park is busted open and Bully charges at him after the match with a kendo stick, only to be caught in a Black Hole Slam, much to the amazement of Joseph Park, who acts like he doesn’t know where it came from.
The fans chant “That was you” as he looks around in disbelief at his own actions.
Sting is walking backstage with the cards that make a “Dead Man’s Hand”. He says that he gets it before he rips them up and throws them aside….
Bully Ray is removing the tacks from his boots backstage and he asks who that just was in the ring. He says that he beat Joseph Park…. But who was that person in the ring?
Rob Van Dam Vs Samoa Joe
RVD & Joe had a great little match last year on Impact and this was another good one, but I’d really like to see a longer PPV match between them.
TNA need to put over their younger talent without making the veterans look weak, so it made me happy to see Jeff Hardy getting the close win over James Storm last week and also RVD going over in this match with a quick cradle pin.
Samoa Joe (37 Points) and James Storm (36 Points) are still in the lead for the Bound For Glory Series.
Claire Lynch is in her car and approached and asked when the last time she talked with Dixie, Kaz and Daniels was? Claire says that she has some things to say, but this isn’t the time to say them before driving away….
Daniels and Kaz are in the ring and they say that the story isn’t over and they want to bring Claire Lynch to the ring to answer some questions. Claire joins them in the ring. Daniels says that he understands she reached rock bottom and that she needed a hand to hold and that hand happened to be AJ Style’s hand.
Before she can respond, AJ Styles comes to the ring and tells Daniels that after he Styles Clashed him through a table at Destination X, this should be over. Daniels says that he has been speaking with Claire and there is a part of the story that not even Styles knows. Claire cuts off AJ and says that Daniels is right and he IS the father of her baby. Styles says that isn’t possible. Claire asks if he remembers “that night” and Styles says no….
AJ Styles walks past Kurt Angle backstage and Jason Harvey asks him if he is the father of Claire’s unborn child. Styles yells that he doesn’t know.
Mr Anderson is looking forward to his continuing his feud with Kurt Angle in the Bound For Glory Match later tonight. He respects Angle and hopes Angle respects him too.
Highlights of Zema Ion winning the X Division Title at Destination X, with an after-match promo by Zema.
“I break necks, cash checks and hold on to this championship”
Dakota Darsow says he is good friends with Jesse Sorensen and he has been offended by Zema’s disrespect for him.
X Title: Zema Ion Vs Dakota Darsow
Zema wins a short match with his Inverted Faceplant move. After the match, he tries to break Dakota’s arm with an armlock and says if any other friends of Jesse Sorensen want to face him, they should know that he isn’t just pretty, he’s pretty f’n dangerous.
The new World Champion comes to the ring. Austin Aries says that it feel great to be champion and that he is the next man to lead wrestling to the next boom period. He has had congratulations from CM Punk (“World champions from different companies”) and the TNA World Championship is the most prestigious Championship there is because he is the greatest man in the world and TNA is the best pro wrestling company around.
Robert Roode’s music hits and he walks down the ramp very slowly. He tells Aries that his win was a fluke and walks out of the ring. Austin holds his Title in the air and reminds him that he is the new World Champion.
Kurt Angle says that Mr Anderson is a great technician in the ring and if he can get past him in the BFG Series, there is a good chance that he will be the next World Champion.
Madison Rayne says she has a lot in common with her crush, Earl Hebner…. They both like wrestling…. They both look after their bodies…. But it’s none of anyone’s business..
It looks like Madison is looking for a way to win the Divas Title back.
KO Title: Brooke Tessmacher Vs Gail Kim
Tessmacher wins the match and retains her Title with an elbow drop from the top rope.
Claire Lynch gets stopped backstage and asked if she has proof that AJ is the father. She says that she has the proof and she’s hoping that AJ will do the right thing….
Magnus says that he has 14 points in the B4G Series and although overlooked, he plans on winning the entire series.

Kurt Angle Vs Mr Anderson
After Anderson kicks out at 2 after an Angle Slam, Kurt applies the Ankle Lock but Anderson escapes and gets a 2 count after the Mic Check. Kurt Angle reverses another Mic Check attempt and gets the 3 count after another Angle Slam.
Good main event match. Angle really brings out the best in Anderson.
Kurt Angle now has 27 points in the Bound For Glory series
Roode tells Hogan backstage that he needs to talk. Hogan grants Roode a rematch at Hardcore Justice, but Rood wants the chance sooner. Hogan tells him to call out Aries during Open Fight Night next week.
Roode accepts and says that Austin’s win was a fluke
Sting comes to the ring and asks Hogan to join him. Hogan’s music plays but he doesn’t come to the ring.
Cameras show him down backstage after being beaten down by the Aces and Eights team, with Brooke frantically checking on her father.
As Sting leaves the ring he is attacked from behind on the ramp by other members of the Aces and Eights team.
I thought this was a good edition of TNA Impact Wrestling.
I like the Bound For Glory Series as it makes those matches feel more important.
The whole Claire Lynch thing is terrible, but I have a morbid curiosity as to where it’s all headed.
