TNA Impact Wrestling 10.11.2011

TNA are on the road, in Georgia….

Bobby Roode / James Storm / Sting Segment
Roode cuts a good heel promo on why he turned on James Storm last week.
He calls this the “selfish generation” and says that he is the leader.
James Storm fights off officials to come to the ring, but Roode escapes him.
Sting comes out and tells Bobby Roode he will face Storm later tonight.

Crimson / Matt Morgan Turning Point Video Package

The Pope Vs Crimson
Short match, putting Crimson over. I like Pope and wish they were using him better, but I just think that TNA have too much talent to feature them all the way they should with only one show each week.
That said, I do see a lot more value in the Pope as a performer in the ring and on the microphone than I see in Crimson.

Garrett Bischoff Vs Gunner
Short match. Garrett was getting the better of Gunner in the ring before Ric Flair came down the ramp, along with Eric and Garrett left the ring and headed for the back…

James Storm has been found attacked and bloodied backstage….

Zema Ion Vs Jesse Sorensen
Another very short match, with Jesse picking up the win.
Kid Kash comes to the ring after the match and cuts a promo on Jesse. He offers him a contract for a 3-way at Turning Point, also featuring Austin Aries. He signs the contract and Kid Kash hits his impressive Double Underhook Spike Piledriver on Jesse after he and Aries had beat him down.
I’ve always been a fan of Kid Kash, but during his current run in TNA, he has really been impressing me with his believable promos and in-ring work.

Velvet Sky / Gail Kim Turning Point Video Package

Velvet Sky & Mickie James Vs Gail Kim & Madison Rayne
Gail Kim pinned Velvet, the Knockout Champion, after her face buster move “Eat The Feet”.

Sting asks the bloodied James Storm what happened to him backstage. He insists he is fine, but he is confused and obviously in no state to perform in his match later tonight…

Eric Young & Ronnie (Jersey Shore) Vs Robbie E & Robbie T
This was a waste of TV time, but luckily it was kept short.

Scott Steiner & Bully Ray backstage promo

Ink Inc & Mexican America brawl in catering!

AJ Styles Vs Chris Daniels
They have a good, short TV match. Daniels tries to get a screwdriver, RVD heads down the ramp and distracts him before he can use it. AJ Styles catches him in a firemans-carry into a neck breaker before the Styles Clash and getting the 3 count.
The CEO of Bellator Fighting Championship was on commentary during the match.

Mr Anderson, Abyss, Jeff Hardy Vs Bully Ray, Jeff Jarrett & Scott Steiner
Good 6 man tag.
The End sequence: Abyss gets the Shock Treatment on Jarrett, Hardy gets the Twist of Fate / Swanton on Bully Ray, Jarrett catches Hardy with the Stroke, Anderson gets the Mic Check on Jarrett, Steiner gets an overhead Belly-To-Belly Suplex on Anderson, before getting caught in a Black Hole Slam and getting pinned.

Robert Roode comes to the ring and awaits James Storm…

After a delay, James Storm starts heading to the ring with blood pouring from his head.
He starts beating on Roode and backdrops him, before he collapses in the ring himself, unable to continue.
A doctor at ringside tells the referee that he shouldn’t have been out here at all.
Roode acts concerned for his former tag team partner and starts to help him to his feet. He asks if the match is over and the referee says that he didn’t ring the bell and he scoops up the helpless James Storm and tells the referee to count him down for the pinfall.
AJ Styles comes to the ring to help Storm and Roode runs away. AJ Styles cuts a promo on Roode and asks Sting to sign him to face Roode at Turning Point.
Sting tells him he has the match….

Overall, this wasn’t one of the best Impact Wrestling shows, but it had it’s moments.
I was able to sit through it all - some things I liked, other things I didn’t like, but nothing insulted me enough to hit that “Fast Forward” button which I need quite often during all WWE shows.
