5 Min Challenge: Kurt Angle Vs Garett Bischoff

Sting / Bobby Roode Contract Signing

James Storm gets into the ring and says that he’s looking forward to his World Championship match with Roode at Lockdown. Bully Ray walks down the ramp and tells Storm that in 3 days time at Victory Road he will be taking him out so he will not be able to make it to Lockdown. Storm says he wants to fight right now  and Bully Ray brings out “One of the toughest guys I know” Gunner… Gunner and Storm brawl and are separated by officials. This match will be later tonight.

Gail Kim and Madison Rayne are backstage arguing over Madison being the No.1 contender to Gail’s KO Title and Sting tells Gail Kim she will be facing Mickie James later tonight and Madison will be facing Velvet Sky.

Video package: Bobby Roode says that he will embarrass Sting and do whatever it takes to finish Sting at Victory Road.

Madison Rayne Vs Velvet Sky
This was just a short TV Knockout match which Madison won by pulling the tights during a roll up.

Morgan and Crimson are talking backstage, Morgan asks Crimson if he’s committed to winning their tag titles back, Crimson assures him that he’s all about winning, considering he is currently undefeated….

Samoa Joe (with Magnus) Vs Crimson (with Morgan)

Matt Morgan gets a hangman clothesline on Samoa Joe from outside the ring, leading to Crimson getting a quick pin on Samoa Joe after hitting a spear.

“Wrestling Matters” video featuring TNA fans….

Austin Aries is in the ring when we return, he announces that there have been 53 X Division Title reigns, 25 different guys who have held the Title and he has now become the longest reigning X Division Champion of all time. He has a video package of himself played on the video wall.
Zema Ion comes to the ring as Aries is about to drink some Champaign. Ion tells him that unless Aries hands over the X Division Title, what happened to Jesse Sorensen  could happen to him at Victory Road.
Ion says “I’m not just pretty, but I’m pretty f’n dangerous” and throws Aries’ drink into his own face.
Aries fights him off and sprays the contents of his Champaign  bottle into Zema’s face and sends him out of the ring and to the back…

Kurt Angle / Jeff Hardy video package / promos
I really liked these promos and I’m looking forward to their match at Victory Road.
Kurt Angle closes the segment saying that Hardy crushes under pressure and he can’t win the big one…

Joseph Park is backstage and he asks Gunner if he has seen his brother Chris “Abyss” Park around and Gunner walks away….

Eric Young is backstage with ODB and he thinks they should start to arrange their wedding.
They decide they are going to get married in the ring on Impact….

Kurt Angle says that he hates young punks like Garett “Bitchoff” and he’s going to teach him a lesson but he tells Hardy that at Victory Road, it may be his very last match because he hates him. It’s real, it’s damn real.

Sting says that every single personality he has ever had could resurface during his match with Roode at Victory Road.

Mickie James Vs Gail Kim

They have a good little match. Gail Kim strikes Mickie with the belt behind the referee’s back and gets the tainted pinfall victory.

Mr Anderson is backstage and says that Styles called him back to TNA
Daniels and Kazarian stop by and ask him why he would choose Style’s side instead of their side
Mr Anderson tells them that he will see them in the ring….

Mr Anderson Vs Chris Daniels
I thought this was a good match. Anderson won the match by pinfall after hitting the Mic Check.  Just before the decision, Kazarian jumped up on the apron to get involved in the match, but AJ Styles stopped him before he had the chance and they brawled down the ramp and to the back.

5 Minute Challenge: Kurt Angle Vs Garett Bischoff

Kurt Angle bullies and controls Garett throughout the 5 minute match, just toying with him. Angle pulls him up from a few different pinning predicaments, Angle punishes him with a suplex on the outside.  Garret starts fighting back in the final 30 seconds by avoiding a charging Angle, sending him flying to the outside. Angle hits the Angle Slam just as the 5 minutes are over. After the match, Angle slaps on the ankle lock on Garett to break his ankle, but  Jeff Hardy runs down to the ring to make the save.
Angle leaves the ring before Hardy can reach him.

James Storm Vs Gunner

James Storm catches Gunner with Closing Time and then  the Last Call Superkick to get the win.
Bully Ray is watching the match from the ramp. He comes charging to the ring at one point, only to turn back around when he gets there.

Bobby Roode / Sting contract signing for their match at Victory Road

Sting and Roode sit opposite each other at the table in the ring.
Roode tells Sting that he is jealous of him. He remembers 22 years ago when Sting defeated Ric Flair for his first World Championship as he was a fan. He says Sting had it all and he wanted to be just like him, but now when Sting sees him, he sees himself because he has all the same traits that Sting had, but he’s faster, stronger, better looking and a better World Champion than Sting ever was. He tells Sting it’s not just jealousy that is the reason Sting has booked himself in the main event against the World Champion at Victory Road, but it’s also ego and his need of being in the spotlight as he is scared people will forget about him. Roode tells Sting that the business has passed him by and this Sunday he’s going to face the World Champion. He reminds Sting that he doesn’t get around as well as he used to, the “stupid face paint” Sting wears doesn’t scare him and the reason he puts it on is to mask himself as he knows that he doesn’t have what it takes to hang in this business anymore. He tells Sting that he’s going to expose him as nothing more than a washed up has-been who should have left the business a long time ago.
After digesting those words for a few moments, Sting gets up and starts putting his face paint on. He smears Roode’s face in black face paint as well and starts punches him into the corner.
Sting punches and kicks away at Roode, as Roode bumps around the ring and to the outside like the second coming of Curt Hennig.
Sting celebrates in the ring while Roode is on the outside with his face covered in Sting’s face paint.

Overall, I thought this was a good week of TNA Impact Wrestling.
I’m looking forward to watching Victory Road and I thought they did a great job at setting up the matches and angles for the event.
