TNA Impact Wrestling  24.5.2012

Hogan is backstage with Hardy, Bully Ray, Angle and Styles and he asks them to each explain why they should get a chance to beat Roode for the TNA World Championship tonight on impact.
Everyone pleads their case for being the most deserving of becoming No.1 contender.
Hogan listens to their arguments and he says while he believes everyone in the room has the ability to beat Roode, he eventually eliminates Bully Ray because he has never won a world title before and he has only been a singles wrestler for the last year. Bully Ray asks him if he feels that was the right decision and walks out when Hogan says it was, after telling him “Eric was right about you”.

Gail Kim comes to the ring with Madison Rayne to challenge Eric Young and ODB, the Knockouts Tag Champions…. But strangely the titles were not up for grabs in this match…

Gail Kim & Madison Vs Eric Young & ODB
This was just a short comedy match. Madison Rayne tripped ODB and held her legs from outside the ring, which enabled Gail Kim to get the pinfall.

Rob Van Dam comes to the ring and calls out Gunner, who was responsible for putting him out of the company in January for three months.

Rob Van Dam Vs Gunner

RVD finally gets revenge by pinning Gunner after hitting the Five Star Frog Splash from quite a distance in the ring, after a short match.

TV Title: Devon Vs Garett Bichoff
TV Champion Devon comes to the ring and calls out Garett and challenges him as Garett eliminated him in the battle royal last week.
During the match, Robbie E and Rob Terry jump into the ring and attack both Devon and Garett, causing a double disqualification.
Robbie E wants the TV Title back….

Hogan is backstage with Angle, Hardy and Anderson as he tries to find the right person to challenge AJ Styles for the World Championship later tonight.
Hogan says that he wants the most dependable guy to face Roode and eliminates Jeff Hardy…
Hogan says that he wants to know what the fans feel before he chooses either Kurt Angle or AJ Styles.

Bully /Ray / Joseph Park in-ring segment.

Bully Ray gets in the ring and asks people if they know who he is. He says that Hogan must have forgotten who he is because he was the first one Hogan eliminated. Bully Ray turns his attention to Joseph Park who is sitting in the crowd with fans. Bully Ray says that he is sick of seeing him and calls Joseph into the ring.
Joseph hesitantly steps into the ring and tells Bully that all he wanted was the truth about his brother Abyss and all the proof he gathered lead to Bully Ray. Joseph Park asks the fans if they think Bully Ray is guilty and they think he is. Bully Ray attacks Joseph with his chain and leaves him laying, before saying “Not guilty” on the microphone and leaving the ring.

Joey Ryan talks about his passion for being a pro wrestler and his love for pro wrestling since childhood.

Kurt Angle says that he is looking forward to working with Mo Lawal when he joins TNA and he will be going to the ring with him for his fights on Bellator Fighting.

TNA Gut Check: Joey Ryan Vs Austin Aries
Aries won the match with an excellently executed Brainbuster after a short match. It was difficult to tell how good Joey Ryan was in the ring in such a short amount of time.

Hulk Hogan / AJ Styles / Kurt Angle in-ring Segment
Hogan says that as Styles knows the champion more than Angle does, he is giving him the chance tonight….

If Roode holds onto the World Championship tonight, he will become the longest reigning TNA champion of all time, surpassing AJ Styles’ current record.

World Championship Title Match: Robert Roode Vs AJ Styles
Great work from both Roode and Styles, who really have a great main event match. Hogan is seen backstage as he gets a call to say that his guest has arrived before we go into the break…
Roode beat AJ Styles with a perfect Fisherman’s Suplex, after Kazarian and Daniels appeared on the ramp and caused a distraction for Styles.
Confetti falls from the ceiling on Roode as he celebrates being the longest champion in the history of the company.

Hogan walks down the ramp with and congratulates Roode before the lights go out. When they return, Sting is revealed as Hogan’s special guest.
Sting attacks Roode and sends him over the top rope with a clothesline.
Hogan announces that next week for TNA’s first live Impact, he is going to start the show by surrounding the ring with TNA wrestlers for a Lumberjack match between Bobby Roode and Sting.

Overall, this was a fair week of TNA Impact Wrestling.
Most of the matches didn’t get much time, but it had a really good main event.
