Jeremy Borash / Eric Bischoff / Bully Ray segment
Kurt Angle Vs Anarquia

KO Title: Gail Kim Vs Miss Tessmaucher

TNA Impact - The First “Open Fight Night” 26.4.2012
Hogan is backstage with TNA Champions - Roode, Aries, Joe, Magnus & Gail Kim.
He tells them that tonight any of them can be challenged for their Titles on Open Fight Night
“Let the fighting begin, brother”
TV Title: Devon Vs Bully Ray
Devon comes to the ring and says that he has to defend his TV Title every week on Impact.
He’s willing to give the opportunity to only one person tonight, which is his former partner, Bully Ray.
They have a solid match, which Devon wins with a big Spinebuster.
Aries cuts a backstage promo on Bully Ray pulling his tights last week to steal the win.
Ric Flair says that he’s throwing a party as a “send-off” for Eric Bischoff later tonight….
Kazarian is backstage and says that although Eric is gone, his work will still be carried out.
Kurt Angle, Chris Daniels and Kazarian are backstage….
Jeremy Borash comes to the ring and says that he wants to take advantage of “Open Fight Night” tonight.
JB cuts a great promo on Eric Bischoff and calls him out to the ring so he can punch him in the face.
While Eric keeps him talking, Bully Ray sneaks into the ring and nails JB with a low blow.
Eric calls a referee into the ring and covers JB for a 3 count. Eric and Bully Ray leave JB laying in the ring.
Mr Anderson says that he had and has a lot of respect for Eric Bischoff. Outside the ring, Eric is anti-government and the oppression of people…. But inside the wrestling business he’s the complete opposite.
Kurt Angle Vs Anarchia
Anarchia challenges anyone in the back and Kurt Angle comes to the ring to accept his challenge.
Anarchia tells Angle that Hernandez will fight him instead, but then jumps Kurt from behind while he’s distracted to start their match.
After an Angle Slam, Kurt slaps on the ankle lock and gets the quick submission win.
Al Snow comes to the ring with Alex Silva. Al Snow introduces “Gut Check”, which is the opportunity each month for an unsigned talent to face someone in TNA. Judges will decide if they earn a contract.
Al joins Taz for commentary during the match.
Robbie E Vs Alex Silva.
This match was very short and Robbie won with his spike DDT finisher. Alex didn’t really get much of a chance to show what he can do, but he didn’t seem especially impressive from the little we saw here.
Dixie is backstage and talks about how Eric Bischoff has told her lies and tried to take the company away from her, so she’s not going to miss him.
Hulk Hogan is in his office backstage with the teams ready to challenge for the Tag Titles tonight and asks them why they deserve the Title shots….. Daniels & Kaz, MCMG, as well as Hardy & Anderson explain why they feel they should get a shot at the Titles. Chris Daniels was especially great here.
Brooke Tessmacher comes to the ring and challenges the Knockout Champion, Gail Kim.
Knockout Title Match: Gail Kim Vs Brooke Tessmacher
This was a short, fair match.
RVD / Bobby Roode promo video
Roode approaches Al Snow and Alex Silva backstage and tells Alex that he should always expect the unexpected in TNA and punches him in the gut before he walks away.
Garett Bischoff is backstage and says that Impact will be a better place without his father.
Bully Ray is talking on his cell phone backstage. Joseph Park approaches him and asks him about his brother Abyss. Bully Ray says that he has no answers for him, but if he did, he still wouldn’t give them to him. Mr Park tries to get Ray to accept his card, but Bully Ray walks away….
Tag Titles: Samoa Joe & Magnus Vs Mr Anderson & Jeff Hardy
This was a good TV tag match. Samoa Joe choked out Anderson in the ring, while Magnus had Jeff trapped outside the ring, unable to help. Joe and Magnus retained the tag team titles.
Ric Flair comes to the ring with Gunner, Chris Daniels, Kazarian and Bully Ray to throw the farewell party for Eric Bischoff. They give him compliments and a new Rolex watch.
Austin Aries and Rob Van Dam brawl with Flair, Daniels, Kaz and Bully Ray while Garett and Jeremy Borash lead Eric up the ramp. They put him in a portaloo and tip the whole thing over. When Eric emerges from the portaloo, he’s covered in brown crap.
He sells the humiliation until Impact Wrestling goes off air.
Overall, this was a fair Impact.
It’s great to see RVD back and in the Title picture and I’m looking forward to his match with Roode at Sacrifice. I didn’t really see the need for the Bischoff Farewell party, but at least it’s (hopefully) the last time we will be seeing Bischoff on TV for a while.
