WWE Raw 29th Aug 2011
CM Punk, Kevin Nash and Triple H open the show with an in-ring promo segment
The main point being “Is Triple H working with Kevin Nash”
Nash says that he was signed to a lucrative contract and that Triple H
could release him if he wants to and he would sit home and still get
paid for not doing anything (That’s what Kevin Nash has always been paid
to do, in fairness). Triple H said that he wasn’t going to fire him.
For all the little kids out there, CM Punk starts making puking noises
and pretending to be sick as he says that he doesn’t believe them.
The segment ended with Kevin Nash giving CM Punk the big boot and Triple
H and Kevin Nash head down the ramp, leaving Punk laying in the ring.
Dolph Ziggler looked great in his match with Orton. Every time I see
Ziggler I’m impressed with what a great athlete he is in the ring. Orton
was Orton in the match, doing the same tired routine he has been doing
for years now in every match. Punch, Punch, Punch, Kick, kick, kick (all
is slow motion)… blah blah… blah
Christian / John Cena / Mark Henry
I wonder whether artistically, Christian misses working for TNA, where
they gave him respect and the chance to work with talents like Kurt
Angle, AJ Styles and Jeff Jarrett…
Nothing says “Ignore this crap” to me more than Cena and Henry…. So that’s what I did.
CM Punk was absolutely dominated in the match by Miz and I don’t think
it’s an exaggeration to say that Punk played the part of a jobber here,
hardly getting in any offence during the entire match. Every time he
tried a move, Miz reversed it into a badly performed move of his own.
Are WWE capitalising on Punk’s popularity and helping to get him over more after he got himself over?
Erm,,,, “No” is the short answer.
CM Punk lost his feud with the useless Cena (Never beating him cleanly -
at MITB, Punk only won after Vince McMahon Interfered in the match and
at SummerSlam, Cena’s leg was draped over the rope, but Triple H acted
blind and counted the 3 count - Since then Cena has beat Punk on TV a
few times).
After his losing feud with Cena and losing his WWE
Title to Alberto (with no rematch, Punk was just bumped from the main
events for Cena the Clown) - Punk has been left laying by Kevin Nash -
of all people - week after week and has never given back any kind of
receipt for it.
After CM Punk acted like Miz’s job boy here on Raw
this week, R-Truth came to the ring and beat Punk down. Then Kevin Nash
came to the ring and gave Punk the Jacknife Powerbomb and left him
laying in the ring again….
When Austin 3:16 kicked off, I never saw Austin being dominated in a match and jobbed out to Brian Christopher on WWE Raw.
And Brian Christopher was TEN TIMES the pro wrestler and TEN TIMES more over than the useless Miz.
Who books this crap? It’s certainly not a fan of pro wrestling or
anyone with a pro wrestling background because they don’t understand how
to push a guy. They don’t understand anything.
Anyway, Kevin Nash
stands dominant over CM Punk again, who is left a broken and battered
guy in the ring and we go to a break…..
Jack Swagger and Sin Cara’s match is interrupted by Dolph Ziggler.
Sin Cara gets the win, after the distraction with a beautiful Springboard Swanton / Springboard Moonsault combo.
It’s a shame to see Swagger’s treatment in WWE. He’s another example of
a great talent that the WWE office didn’t know how to help get over and
was quickly ushered out of the main events.
The WWE office must
spend all week trying to think of new “Poo Poo” jokes for Cena. That’s
honestly what it seems like. What else do they really do?
One thing I
do like is that Swagger and Ziggler (Stupid damn names, I know, but
hey, WWE are all about making children smile….) will be feuding and I
feel both guys are just great athletes, who can produce great matches.
Great matches, in WWE?
Well, WWE don’t like the thought of that, so
just to make sure it’s diluted, Vicky Guerrero seems to be the main
focus of the whole angle.
Vicky wants to manage Swagger as well as
Dolph and now Dolph is jealous. This is the best WWE can do for two of
the best athletes in the company!?
I’m sure Vicky will not only be the main focus of their angle, but she’ll also get involved in their matches.
Only in McMahon-BizarroWorld would Vicky be the main focus of a pro wrestling angle / storyline.
At some point, Vicky’s going to get mad and start jumping about unhappy
in the ring so all the little children in the audience can laugh “Haha,
look at Vicky being angry jumping around in the ring, ha ha”.
Pathetic.
Evan Bourne and Kofi defended the Tag Team Titles,
which they won last week, against the former champions, McGillicutty
& Otunga.
The King spent most of the match talking about how boring McGillicutty and Otunga are….
What was that I was saying about the WWE office having no idea how to get anyone over?
King explained that the only reason Otunga is even in the WWE is
because he is married to Kate Hudson. The King just buried the guy with
truth.
McGillicutty has a ton of potential, but WWE have given him
no gimmick, no character development, they have given him nothing apart
from a stupid name that they can own the copyright to putting him in a
team with the useless Otunga, of all people.
After losing the short
rematch (Otunga messed up a spot with Evan Bourne and the whole short
match, making the whole thing look like a mess) Otunga went outside the
ring, pulled Lawler’s headphones from his head and threw then back at
him for his similar comments last week (the commentators say it was his
comments this week, but how could he even hear them while he was messing
up spots in the ring?),
You see, I try to make sense of this crap.
So, unless this is just a waste of time (which I hope it was) it looks
like The King will be feuding with Otunga and McGillicutty…. More crap
coming soon on Monday Night Raw….
Kelly Kelly Vs Brie Bella?
Horrible, just horrible. Why do they bother with this crap. These girls
couldn’t manage walking around the ring with a “Round 1” sign without
tripping over their own feet or getting lost.
WWE shouldn’t put these people who don’t know how to work in the ring.
It’s embarrassing for their product and it’s embarrassing to watch this crap…..
Christian & Mark Henry Vs John Cena & Sheamus
As much as I think Christian is great, I can’t stand the other guys in
the match and they just made it unbearable to watch. Same old shitty
Cena tag match here.
Christian is another guy who has been suffering
at the hands of the WWE Uncreative team and they’ve actually made him a
lot less over than he was when he returned to WWE from TNA.
At the end of Raw, Triple H revealed that he will be Punk’s opponent at Night Of Champions, instead of Kevin Nash.
Another awful Raw ends with the boring Cena and Sheamus in the ring celebrating their win.
WWE Nxt Thoughts
NXT was just looking back at some of the NXT rookies and what they have done in WWE.
I recorded the show, but I didn’t watch it because I’ve seen all that stuff before.
Zeke Vs Heath Slater
This was just a 3 minute nothing match, which Zeke won with the “Torture Rack” Submission.
Brodus Clay Vs Brandon James
Brodus is WWE’s new Mable. Another nothing jobber match.
Brodus won with a crossbody after about one minute.
Tyson Kidd Vs Zack Ryder
These guys have a good little TV match which lasted about 4 minutes. Zack Ryder wins the match with a leg lariat.
John Morrison Vs R-Truth
Wow, this feud has been bumped to Superstars!?
R-Truth and John Morrison have the best match on WWE TV all week. I liked this, good work from both guys.
WWE Smack Down 30th September 2011
WWE have billed this as “Super Smack Down” and it’s on live on Tuesday night.
Cena cuts a crappy promo for all those little kids out there watching
to laugh at the new “Poo Poo” jokes the Office have been working on all
week…. It sounds like it was written by a retarded 4 year old.
Wade Barrett Vs John Cena
This is the typical Punch-kick-punch-kick-chinlock WWE TM Style match which I hate so much.
This was bad.
Daniel Bryan Vs Sin Cara
These guys have a really good, but short, match. Sin Cara won the match cleanly.
Are WWE grooming Daniel Bryan to win the World Title at WrestleMania?
It doesn’t seem likely, but then with WWE’s backwards booking, you never
know.
After the match, Daniel Bryan tried to shake Sin Cara’s hand,
but Cara turns heel out of nowhere, for no reason, no build up or
anything and attacks Bryan before they go to another break….
Nattie & Beth tried to work with Kelly and Alicia, but they just can’t do anything in the ring.
I’m tired of being redundant, but WWE shouldn’t put people in the ring
who don’t know what they are doing. It’s embarrassing for all involved.
Triple H and CM Punk have a contract signing.
Good Promo work by both Triple and CM Punk as they try to push their match at Night Of Champions.
Great Khali Vs Sheamus? This was complete crap, obviously.
Punch-kick-chop-nerve-hold-shoulder
block blah blah blah, just horrible. I couldn’t watch this, I just
looked up occasionally and I was appalled by the shitty things I saw.
Christian Vs Randy Orton, Cage match
Christian was again jobbed out to the boring Orton in a poor low-risk, PG, kiddy friendly cage match.
Christian really tried his best to get something worthwhile out of
Orton, but that’s just like getting blood out of a stone…. There was no
blood, no ramming the guy into the cage, no bumps from the cage,
nothing. It was just a normal Orton match, with a fence around the ring.
After being beaten by Orton, Christian was just an afterthought, as the
useless Mark Henry came to the ring and beat down Orton easily and left
him laying in the ring.
This was billed as “Super Smack Down!”
but it should have been called “Super-Shitty Smack Down!” because that
is exactly what it was.
This was bad.
Daniel Bryan Vs Sin Cara
These guys have a really good, but short, match. Sin Cara won the match cleanly.
